Introducing ‘CHIME’

While recovery is a unique and individual experience, evidence* suggests there are some common themes. These can be grouped into the ‘CHIME‘ concept.

  • Having good relationships and being connected in positive ways to other people. This includes peer support between people with experience of mental health issues, as well as relationships with carers, friends, and family. Positive connections with health professionals and community involvement are also important.



Conversation cards

Our work with communities across Scotland has highlighted that a great way to encourage conversations and local action around recovery and wellbeing is to use our Let’s talk about recovery conversation cards.

Based on the themes from  the CHIME framework* this pack of cards are an ideal way for people, organisations and communities to get discussions started about what is important to them.
