New funding announced for community greenspace projects

Communities across Scotland, England and Wales can now apply for up to £12,000 towards local greenspace projects.

greenspace_scotland_logoTesco Local Community Scheme is a new grants programme launched with the proceeds generated from the sale of carrier bags by the supermarket. The programme aims to create and improve spaces such as parks, play areas, community gardens, sports facilities, woodland walks and more.

The fund is managed by environmental charity Groundwork, working with greenspace scotland to support Scottish projects, and is open to community groups, charities and some public sector organisations.

It is anticipated that there will be two funding rounds per year over the next three years.The first funding round is now open and will close at noon on the 27th November 2015.
