New faith and mental wellbeing resource

6th December 2012

Officially launched by Nicola Sturgeon, Deputy First Minister and MSP for Glasgow Southside, this new guide aims to give the Muslim community in Glasgow some simple, practical ways to look after their physical and spiritual wellbeing.

The first of its kind in Scotland, this resource has been developed through a partnership of faith leaders and a range of voluntary and statutory organisations. It highlights a range of key mental health messages including ‘Many people can, and most do, recover from a mental health problem’.

It is hoped other faith groups will now be encouraged to develop their own resources and that the information included will support health and voluntary sector organisations to forge working links with faith leaders.
