23rd October 2012

Mindreel – an initiative to create an online database of films that address a wide range of mental health issues – has a new website.

reflections_on_recovery_screenshotLed by The Institute for Research and Innovation in Social Services (IRISS), in partnership with the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival (SMHAFF) and the University of Strathclyde, this free learning resource has been re-designed and now features over 100 films about mental health.

Two SRN films – ‘Reflections On Recovery’ and ‘Journey of Hope’ – are featured.

Reflections on Recovery (produced with the Lanarkshire Recovery Network) was officially launched during the 2008 SMHAFF. It highlights the experiences of those who have suffered mental health difficulties and discusses individual paths to recovery.

Journey of Hope, made in conjunction with PLUS, the mental health service user forum in Perth and Kinross, aims to give hope to people and to help dispel the negative image of mental health problems.
