MECOPP launch SDS animation in five languages
20th October 2014
MECOPP have developed a short animation about self-directed support (SDS) for people who speak English as a second language.
The aim of the video is to make SDS information accessible to all communities and provide a starting point for wider conversations around needs and support. MECOPP commented:
“When talking about SDS with carers we support, we learned that people were confused by the language used and that the SDS jargon doesn’t translate well. In response we have developed a short animated video explaining what SDS is, how it works, and what it can do.”
The video is aimed at South Asian and Chinese people with support needs and is available in English, Bengali, Cantonese, Punjabi and Urdu.
