Health in Mind launch new self-management service

Health in Mind have launched a new initiative, to be delivered in local communities across Edinburgh, that taps into the knowledge and experience of those using the service.

Funded by the ALLIANCE Self Management Impact Fund, M.A.P.S. (My Assets and Personal Strengths) is a 16 week programme that:

“..supports people experiencing mental health difficulties and other long term conditions to realise their own strengths and to reconnect with their community to better self manage their wellbeing.”

The programme aims to help people:

  • Improve mental health and wellbeing
  • Increase social and personal networks
  • Feel better able to self-manage their condition
  • Increase their knowledge of local activities and increase access of them

M.A.P.S. includes the completion of a WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan).
