Half way to a hundred!
7th April 2011
WRAP in Scotland has reached another milestone: there are now over 50 SRN trained Facilitators available to deliver the WRAP workshop.
More importantly, this increase in numbers has been part of a carefully planned process which will support the work SRN has already begun in implementing a strategic approach to spreading WRAP throughout Scotland.
This process involved:
- Offering an enhanced WRAP workshop to 30 individuals selected from across Scotland. The selection process gave priority to people who had already undertaken the existing Level 1 workshop.
- Following two deliveries of the enhanced workshop all of these individuals were offered the opportunity to apply for places on Facilitator training.
- The application and selection process gave priority to people who had the support of an existing organisation and where possible came from parts of the country where there were few or no Facilitators.
John Moody, SRN Network Officer responsible for WRAP, said:
“I am delighted to welcome 12 new Facilitators. We already have a high quality Facilitator workforce working across the country. This new group of Facilitators will enhance this workforce in offering WRAP to people in parts of Scotland where getting access to a WRAP group was previously difficult.”
“We still have a long way to go in making WRAP available to everyone who wants to join a WRAP group, but we continue to make progress.“
