Get involved with Fife Peer 2 peer project
16th October 2018
Join us to learn more about a free peer support training opportunity in Fife for people with experience of mental health problems.
SRN are pleased to announce that we are partners with Fife Employment Access Trust (FEAT) in their new Peer 2 Peer project. Peer 2 peer is a 6 month pilot that includes an 8 week peer support training course, volunteering opportunities and creating a network to explore how to build on taking peer support forward in Fife.
Peer Support is ‘…a system of giving and receiving help founded on the key principles of respect, shared responsibility and a mutual agreement of what is helpful.’
(Mead, Hilton and Curtis, 2001)
The course which will run from November to January will be facilitated by people with lived experience. The course provides a great opportunity to use knowledge from your own recovery experiences to develop skills that will enable you to offer peer support to others in their recovery.
