Dundee Peer Recovery Network: planning for the future

28th November 2019

Co-designing the future is the theme for the next Dundee Peer Recovery Network event.

An event this December will bring peer recovery volunteers and workers; Peer2Peer graduates and Making Recovery Real partner organisations together to co-design a Dundee Peer Recovery Network for the future.

The great work by all those involved in Making Recovery Real in Dundee has resulted in a significant increase in the number and range of peer roles in local services and organisations.

Peers are involved in:

  • running groups
  • holding workshops using their recovery stories film to get practitioners, decision-makers and communities talking about recovery
  • providing one-to-one support
  • delivering peer training and learning

There have also been a number of new paid peer posts created including roles with a responsibility to develop peer recovery in Dundee.

All this welcome change means that it is now time for those involved in developing peer recovery in Dundee to come together to decide what the priorities and activities of the Dundee Peer Recovery Network will be.
