A collective voice for change

The Scottish Mental Health Partnership have launched new paper: ‘How we meet the mental health needs of all Scots’.

The launch took place at Parliament Reception earlier this month. As one of 17 member organisations we fed into the development of the paper. We join the call for a radically different Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy for Scotland.

The new paper proposes a “Promote, Prevent, Provide” approach to foster good mental health for all whilst providing high quality services for those with mental health conditions.

The event was hosted by Paul McLennan MSP. A range of MSPs attended and signed a pledge to support a Scotland where mental health and wellbeing is enjoyed by all. Kevin Stewart, Minister for Mental Wellbeing and Social Care, announced the development of a NEW mental health strategy for Scotland. This strategy will continue the good work happening already. It will have a new vision and approach for the next five years and longer term.

Scottish Government have published a draft version of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy which is now open for consultation
