SRN Seminar series: Seminar 2 - Tidal Model

In the second seminar in the Scottish Recovery Network series, we heard two talks on the Tidal Model. The seminar featured Professor Phil Barker and Poppy Buchanan Barker, who designed the model which is commonly, but not exclusively, used in mental health nursing. We also heard from Robert Davidson who led on the piloting of the model within three wards in Greater Glasgow.

In a specially commissioned article for SRN, researcher and psychiatric survivor Dr Jayasree Kalathil explores the issues of recovery and resilience from the perspective of black women interviewed for a 2011 study by Survivor Research and the Mental Health Foundation. While the article focuses on recent data from England, there are important lessons to be learnt everywhere, including Scotland.
