Citizen leadership is a concept that has been developed by people who use health and social work services, and carers. It describes the actions taken by service users and carers to make support services better.

A website is being developed, which will describe examples of Citizen Leadership through stories, art, and other media. This 'Citizen Leadership Gallery' will be used as a resource to educate and inspire others. The project is being run by The Scottish Consortium for Learning Disability, but it is not specifically about people who have a learning disability - the project is aimed at anyone who uses health and social work services, and carers of people who use these services. The action taken could be by a person or an organisation, and the impact might be at an individual, community, or national level.

If you have been involved in, or know of an example of Citizen Leadership, please get in touch with the SCLD to find out more about featuring your story in the Citizen Leadership Gallery.
