'Unfolding the Hidden Story' aims to bring together people from across Scotland to discuss and consider the contribution and ideas of narrative therapy in relation to contemporary policy and practice. This event is hosted by Robert Gordon University and will take place on Novermber 1st 2010. Keynote speaker, Allan Holmgren, is internationally renowned in the area of Narrative Therapy and is director of Dispuk which is a Danish narrative centre.The day is relevant for a broad spectrum of people and groups – service users, informal carers, social workers, clinical psychologists, community workers, nurses, family therapists etc. The conference fee is £75 per person and discounts (£30) will be available for service users, carers and students. 16 May In a specially commissioned article for SRN, researcher and psychiatric survivor Dr Jayasree Kalathil explores the issues of recovery and resilience from the perspective of black women interviewed for a 2011 study by Survivor Research and the Mental Health Foundation. While the article focuses on recent data from England, there are important lessons to be learnt everywhere, including Scotland. |
