Self Management Fund Roadshows

The Long Term Conditions Alliance Scotland (LTCAS) are holding a series of roadshows across Scotland to highlight the newly launched Self Management Fund for Scotland.

The roadshows are an opportunity for you to come along and hear more about the fund from the LTCAS team as well as to discuss ideas.

The Self Management Fund is open to voluntary organisations and community groups working in Scotland to promote self management for people with long term conditions.

The first roadshows will be held at the following locations:

Glasgow, 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, Thursday 9th April
LTCAS offices, Venlaw Building, 349 Bath Street, Glasgow G2 4AA

Galashiels, 1pm-3pm, Tuesday 14th April
Volunteers Hall, St John Street, Galashiels, TD1 3JX

Inverness, 1pm-3pm, Friday 17th April
Spectrum Centre, 1 Margaret Street, Inverness, IV1 1LS

Further roadshows are planned later in the year in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dumfries.

In a specially commissioned article for SRN, researcher and psychiatric survivor Dr Jayasree Kalathil explores the issues of recovery and resilience from the perspective of black women interviewed for a 2011 study by Survivor Research and the Mental Health Foundation. While the article focuses on recent data from England, there are important lessons to be learnt everywhere, including Scotland.
