WRAP - What's happening now?

In June you may recall eighteen people from a range of backgrounds successfully completed a week of intensive training to become WRAP Facilitators. Initial work is now well under way to roll-out WRAP to relevant individuals, groups and organisations in Scotland.

For example:
  • Turning Point Scotland will make WRAP training available through their annual training plan as part of their ongoing commitment to recovery. By providing this training to staff there is potential for a significant number of service users who wish to produce their own WRAP to do so. Turning Point Scotland employs over 1000 staff members and supports in excess of 3000 services users each year.
  • Introduction to WRAP” session successfully delivered in Glenrothes by Chrys Muirhead Associates, and two further sessions are now due to take place in Edinburgh (1st October) and Glasgow (2nd October).
  • Throughout Scotland a range of planning meetings have been held, and presentations delivered, within the NHS and other national and local organisations (including local recovery networks) to help shape the future delivery of WRAP and the development of local training plans.
  • A number of facilitators are also scheduled to co-deliver their first full two-day WRAP course in September and October.
We feel this is a very positive start to developing WRAP in Scotland. The first national meeting of WRAP facilitators will soon be held, with the aim agreeing future actions which can help to strengthen or accelerate current activity – and, of course, how the Scottish Recovery Network can best continue to support the process.
