Positive Mental Attitudes (PMA) are hosting a showcase event at Platform in Easterhouse on Wednesday 25th June between 10am - 12pm; highlighting the rapidly expanding mental health awareness and anti-stigma project. The event will showcase the multi-faceted work of PMA including - the launch of a its new website, the launch of a new arts magazine 'Promoting More Arts' (In East Glasgow) and the success of the PMA Education Pack. The PMA project is part of the East Glasgow Community Health and Care Partnership and will feature key speakers Mark Feinmann (Director) and Raymond Bell (Head of Mental Health). The showcase event, in the main auditorium of Platform, will also feature animation and film clips, visual art displays and a drama performance from PMA’s dynamic art groups. PMA aims to promote a better understanding of mental health problems so that people can seek help early and be treated better within their communities. While the article focuses on recent data from England, there are important lessons to be learnt everywhere, including Scotland. |
