SRN eUpdate survey results |

The results of a survey SRN carried out on its email bulletins ('eUpdates') and website indicate that audiences find both a positive and informative experience. In September 2010, SRN undertook an online survey of its eUpdate and website audiences. The aim was to assess the impact of both communication tools and help inform future developments around them, in order to ensure both remain useful, of interest, and relevant to Network members. The survey found that readers are most interested in the eUpdate for news from Scotland relating to recovery and in SRN’s own projects, activities and publications. This indicates that there is a good match between peoples’ interests and reasons for joining the Network and SRN’s ability to inform and sustain this interest. Respondents clearly indicate that the eUpdate drives them to the SRN website and, once there, the site holds their interest. Overwhelmingly, respondents said that the SRN website is clear and easy to use. There is a relatively even spread of interest across the main sections, particularly ‘Recovery’, ‘News’, ‘Activities & Projects’ and ‘Resources’. With regards to future development of the website, there is substantial interest in featuring more dynamic content (i.e. film and audio). However, there is disagreement over the benefits of SRN using more interactive media tools like Twitter and Facebook, and few visitors think SRN should redevelop its website homepage.
