Self-directed support: Government consultation

PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 18 January 2011

The Scottish Government is looking for people to contribute to a consultation on draft legislation on self-directed support.

Self-directed support empowers people to direct their own care and support, and to have informed choices about how that support is provided. The Government hopes the bill will help improve service provision in the face of higher expectations of choice, control and responsibility, major demographic changes and a challenging financial climate.

Find out more about the draft legislation and how to contribute to the consultation, or download a copy of the Self-directed Support draft bill.

The closing date for written responses to the consultation is Thursday 17 March 2011.

If you have any questions or would like a hard copy of the consultation documents, please contact the Government’s self-directed support team on 0131 244 3721 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
