NHS Lothian training for people interested in mental health

NHS Lothian is delivering Depression Awareness and Scotland's Mental Health First Aid training in June 2011.

NHS Lothian logoDepression awareness training will take place on 14th June 2011 in Edinburgh. This is a half day course aimed at raising awareness of depression and its identification among members of the community who are likely to come into contact with people experiencing emotional distress. 

This course is open to members of the public who, through their work, or everyday life may come into contact with someone who is suffering from depression.

Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid will take place on 2-3 and 28-29 June 2011, also in Edinburgh. This is a two day course which is aimed at imroving participants’ awareness and understanding of mental health. It will help people to recognise the signs and symptoms of someone with mental health problems, how to respond to various mental health crises, and engage with, support and signpost people to appropriate professional help.


This course is open to anyone with an interest in mental health.
