The Equality Act brings together nine separate pieces of legislation into one single Act simplifying the law and strengthening it in important ways to help tackle discrimination and inequality.

Equality Act document coverIn light of our previous articles regarding employment and mental health, such as Mental health, peer support and employability, SRN thought that Network members may be interested in the specific guidelines on questions that organisations can ask during interviews regarding health and disability.

For this and other information please go to the Equality Act 2010: What do I need to know.  There is also information on rights, what you need to know as a carer and further guidelines for employers and voluntary organisations.

Network members may also be interested in commenting on the Equalities Act as part of the Westminster Government’s Red Tape Challenge.
