Independent Living in Scotland Festival: 17th February 2011

This free festival aims to bring individual disabled people and their organisations together to celebrate their achievements and look at how they will address the challenges facing them.

The festival is supported by Inclusion Scotland, Glasgow Disability Alliance, the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Scottish Human Rights Commission and will take place at the Glasgow Thistle Hotel.

With international keynote speakers, a one day only exhibition charting the history of independent living, learning zones and information areas, this event will allow organisations and disabled people to share best practice, advice, information and to build capacity.

Workshops on the day will include topics such as welfare rights, self directed support, human rights and more.
