We are delighted that Jamila Brown has shared her story of lived experience of mental health problems and recovery on the SRN website.

Jamila is a successful writer and performer. In her story she describes her recovery experience as a women of mixed race, touching on a broad range of helping and hindering factors including race and identity, parenting and family life, university study, creativity, trauma, therapy and spirituality.

Read Jamila's story, 'Coming home'.

Jamila will also be performing her poem 'Blue' at two forthcoming events in October as part of the Scottish Mental Health Film Festival (SMHFF):

6th October: Moving Minds (presented by Voices of Experience)
21st October: Therapeutic Theatre Symposium
